Best AP Geometry Award: Anna for hitting a hard angle for a clean winner

Mr. Clean Award: Rachel for the cleanest sets. You set such a clean sets that our hitters seem to be hitting off of platters.

Channeling Lilo’s Friend: Cadence for serving the ball so very hard, that the players who were supposed to get it Twitched away from the ball.

Best Snooker award: Addison for hitting the ball in the deep left corner for a clean winner.

Best Deep Adjustment: Aleyna, I’ve been asking you to hit the angles and corners. You hit straight middle and they picked it up, then you hit right angle for a winner. Great adjustment.

Best short ball coverage: Francesca and Caroline on different occasions, the ball was short, short, short and you got into position, sent up perfect passes.

Best Block with an Attitude: Dara, you blocked the ball DOWN and then showed us the ‘tude that middles need.

Best Slide Rule Impression: Caroline, for making such difficult floating left approach adjustments AND hitting with power. One of the other coaches thought they were all going into the net.

Best Top Spin hits: Ally, just wow, keep on hitting it and you’ll be unstoppable!

Block Party: Anna, Aleyna, Caroline for keeping their hits on their side.

Mohs Scale 10 Serves: Ashlyn for hitting the most difficult serves to return.

Best Ballet Dancer Impression: Rachel for racing to the net, tipping the ball and then tip toeing on the line to keep out of the net. Great body control!

Best Setter Combo: Rachel and Cadence. Cadence passed the ball, Rachel looked, saw a spot and tipped it in for a kill.

Best Solo Combo: Ally and Ally. Ally dove for the ball, but it went over the net, CJVA saw the opportunity and attempted to catch you lazing on the floor, but you had gotten right up and passed it perfectly to our setter.

Best Hitting Adjustment: Francesca, you had hit the ball into the net, then you made the mental adjustment and never did it again. That is perfect!

Best 9 Ball Player Impression: Cadence for starting the match off with 9 straight points.

Best Sniper Impression: Charlotte for serving and hitting the back line. It is unusual for someone to serve and hit the back line, you seem to do it regularily. Keep it up!

Dorothy Poynton award: Rachel for best diving save. Just wow. That ball was ticketed to the ground and you got your arms and body under the ball and got it up! Great job!

Best 18 Wheeler Award: Everyone! For running and trailing your teammates when they went to get a shanked ball. This is the embodiment of Team. For example, a ball was shanked, Francesca sprints back to the dividing net, with everyone trailing, gets the ball up and Cadence gets the ball back over. Great job everyone! then there was the dive into the stands. Then there was the dive into our opponents’ parents!

Best Tack impression: Addison and Charlotte. Great job keeping our team in the game with all of your perfect passing!

Best Waitress: Cadence for tip kills

Mariana Trench award: Caroline for being deeeeeeeep in our court, bumped the 3rd ball over the net, for a kill.

Best Make them Blink award: Ashlyn for hitting the ball so, very hard that they shut their eyes because they were afraid of your hit!

Best HIt that Confused the Blocker: Caroline for hitting the ball, but the blocker was late, who then block the ball down… onto their side.

Turkey Award: Cadence earns the 2nd turkey ever awarded! Excellent.

Best Imitation of a Roof: Dara, for putting up blocks and forcing the other teams to adjust their hits.

Best Imitation of an WWE Wrestler: Rachel, for tracking down a shanked ball and nearly taking out the scorer’s table at the same time. While I appreciate the effort, next time, please stop before the really hard surface. (Rule #1)

Best In Game Adjustments: Rachel, Cadence, Charlotte and Addison. Our setter 1st ball passing was a little chaotic, so, we figured out our strategy, made our adjustments and the final product was that actually ran plays from our libero setting.

Best Houdini Impression: The ball was hit onto our side, our pass was about 7 feet high and heading towards the net, too far away from the setter, but Aleyna jumped got her hands up and magically set the ball by the skin of her fingertips, bought us just enough time for Dara to put an attack on the ball.

Deep Corner, 5 points serve: Anna, for hitting the serve high, deep an right square into the deep right corner. If it were up to me, it would be 5 points.

Best Pass Past Torso: Charlotte, the hit was so hard and it had already past your body, but you stuck your platform out and sent up a perfect pass!

Longest Run of Serves: Rachel for serving 10 in a row.

Best Almost Chicken, Turkey Award: Cadence, Ashlyn for serving 2 in a row for many serves. Almost got them… you’ll get them next time!

Cucumber Award: Francesca, NYC Juniors best server was up, she had been picking us apart, and then she served you. Cool as a cucumber, you set your platform and passed from your left, across the court for a perfect pass.

Best Sphere: Caroline, for being the best all around player. Good Solid Play.

Billiard Award: Cadence and Aleyna for the best 1-2 combination, where Cadence got the first ball, and set it to Aleyna who, hit it down for a point!

Best Imitation of Dwayne Johnson: Addison for playing a strong game, for being a Rock for our team.

Best Mariano Rivera Impression: Ashlyn for closing out matches with aces. Great job!

Best Protractor Impression: Dara, Aleyna for hitting balls at almost impossible angles which landed within 2′!

Best Float Serves that went out: Cadence. You consistently hit these AWESOME float serves that just. barely. went wide right. Just a measly 12 inches to the left, would have resulted in aces. The potential is there, we all saw it. We’ll harness this power.

Best impression of a Tack: Charlotte and Addison for Tack Sharp passing.

Best Block Party: Francesca, Aleyna, Anna, Dara for putting up blocks and keep us in the game.

Best Pass Hit Combination: Ally, for breaking their best server, then transitioning and THEN hitting the ball deep corner.

Best UnConventional Kill: Anna, for best bump kill. A difficult ball came over and you passed it over the net, but in the perfect spot, for a kill!

Best Serving Adjustments: Ally and Ashlyn. I asked you to change your serve to take advantage of your strengths and you implemented the changes with great results.

Best Nose for the Ball: Cadence. We were in chaos. The ball was coming down. You ran AROUND Dara from the right, and passed the ball up from her LEFT knee for someone to hit the ball over. Just wow.

Da Crusha Award: Francesca for Crushing several sets late in Saturday’s matches.

Breaking Rule #1 Serves: Francesca and Cadence. Both of you served extremely low, hard and flat serves, that our opponents shanked them… INTO their teammates’ head. They just couldn’t react fast enough.

Best 2 Handed Putter Downer: Dara, for strong play at the net by rejecting their balls w/ both hands!

Best Impression of Gandolf: Aleyna. They overpassed the ball and you channeled your inner Gandolf and said “You shall not pass” and hit the ball back over.

Best Wonder Woman Impression: Charlotte for flying like Wonder Woman into the chairs to track down a shanked pass.

Best Math Homework: Caroline for having the highest hitting and serving percentage! This is SUPER! A+

Best Stressball Impression: Aleyna, hit a ball down, middle middle, and it squishes the passer. She just couldn’t get the ball into the air.

Best Impression of a Construction Vehicle: Cadence for the best setter dump.

Best Top Spin Serves: Rachel and Ally. ‘Nuff Said

Best Duck Impression: Anna and Addison. In each of your situations, a ball was coming right at you, but you knew it was out, so you ducked out of the way and sure enough the balls went by for our points. Good job, nice court awareness.

Best Difficult Geometry Award: Ashlyn. Their outside was off the court and puts a hit on the ball, extreme hard angle, but you read the hit and angle and put up a perfect pass.

Best Fish Hit: Charlotte for taking control of a ball that was deep on our side and hit the ball that skimmed the top of the net. This was part of a series where you got progressively better in hitting those balls. Way to keep working on getting better within the game.

Best Falling Away Hit: Ally, the ball was set behind you, and you back pedaled… back pedaled and hit the ball, with strength into their corner for the attack.
